
Municipal Court
The Milton Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction. The Municipal Court Judge is authorized by Washington State Statute to preside over the following types of cases: non-traffic infractions, traffic infractions, criminal misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors, and orders for protection for victims of domestic violence. The Municipal Court schedules arraignments, pre-trial hearings, non-jury and jury trials, sentencings, reviews, etc. The Municipal Court coordinates related services including legal representation for indigent persons and interpreter services.
Court proceedings are open to the public. Parties interested in viewing hearings should contact the court to verify session times.
Effective January 1, 2013, the Milton Municipal Court has moved and will operate in partnership with the Puyallup Municipal Court, although the two courts will remain as separate agencies.
