Regular Meetings

The Civil Service Commission meets on the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:15 p.m. at 1000 Laurel Street, Building B.

Civil Service Commission post Covid-19, Washington Ready:

The Civil Service Commission has returned to in-person meetings. To stay in compliance with OPMA Proclamation 20-28.15, we are offering the meeting to be heard through Zoom. Zoom information can be found on the calendar for the meeting you wish to attend. To stay in compliance with DOH, L&I and the State of Washington, the following guidelines must be followed when attending an in-person meeting: 

  • Masks are required for all individuals, regardless of vaccination status.
  • We ask that you self-screen prior to attending a meeting. Should you have any signs of Covid-19, please stay home.
  • We have installed air purifiers throughout the buildings.

About the Commission

The Civil Service Commission consists of five members appointed by the Mayor as described in Milton Municipal Code 2.32. Terms are for six years with one member’s term expiring each year. The Civil Service Commission establishes the hiring and promotional listings of police personnel for the City. The Civil Service Secretary/Examiner is Rose Novak; she can be reached via email.
