Public Hearing and Determination of Non-Significance

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Milton Planning Commission will hold a Public Hearing and Determination of Non-Significance at its regular meeting on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at 6pm to receive comments regarding PLN2023-0001 on proposed amendments to Title 17 amending fence and clear vision standards, prior to the Planning Commission making a formal recommendation to the City Council regarding such regulations. This hearing will take place in the Council Chambers located at 1000 Laurel Street, Milton, Washington.

Comments must be submitted by the close of business on April 11, 2023, to Angelie Stahlnecker at 253-517-2701 or email.

Civil Service Commission Opening

The five members of the Civil Service Commission are responsible for establishing the hiring and promotional listings of police personnel for the City. 

The Civil Service Commission positions are appointed by the Mayor as described in Milton Municipal Code 2.32. Terms are for six years with one member's term expiring each year. No person shall be appointed a member of such commission who is not a citizen of the United States, a resident of such city for at least three years immediately preceding such appointment, and an elector of the county wherein he or she resides.

The Commission meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 5:15pm. To get involved, complete a Public Service Application.  Applications can be submitted to City Clerk Trisha Summers by email or at 1000 Laurel St, Milton, WA 98354. 

Park Board Opening

The Park Board is composed of seven members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. Terms are for four years. The Board shall recommend general policies regarding development, operation, and maintenance of recreation areas and facilities. The Park Board adopts a proposed long-range program for the acquisition and improvement of recreation areas, and reviews at least every two years.

The Park Board meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 6:00pm. To get involved, complete a Public Service Application. Applications can be submitted to City Clerk Trisha Summers by email or at 1000 Laurel St, Milton, WA 98354. 

Events Committee Opening

Are you looking for a way to get involved and have a passion for community events? We have an opening on our Events Committee. The Events Committee is tasked with planning and coordinating community events such as the annual Milton Days, Craft Bazaar and Tree Lighting. These events wouldn’t be possible without the members of the Events Committee!!
