Notice of Public Hearing-September 20,2021

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Milton City Council will hold a public hearing at its regular meeting on Monday, September 20, 2021, at 7pm to receive comments on an emergency interim ordinance adopting regulations to bring the Milton Municipal Code into compliance with recently adopted State House Bill 1220 regarding affordable housing. The meeting will be held virtually and in-person, and the public will have the opportunity to comment during the public hearing either in person or by submitting written comments by emailed, by fax to 253-922-2385, or in writing to 1000 Laurel St., Milton, WA 98354. Written comments will be accepted until noon on September 20, 2021.

WestCoast Transport-Notice of Public Hearing

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the City will be holding a Public Hearing on September 22, 2021 at 9am for the proposed WestCoast Transport site. The meeting will be held virtually and in-person. Public comment may be emailed, submitted by fax to 253-922-2385 or in writing to 1000 Laurel St. Milton, WA 98354 in advance of the hearing for those who wish to provide comment on this matter.

Planning Commission Opening

The seven-member Milton Planning Commission reviews staff proposals, holds public hearings and submits recommendations to the City Council on amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, development plans and area-wide zoning proposals and text amendments.

The Planning Commission consists of seven members appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by the Council. The six-year terms terminate on the 31st day of May of the corresponding year. The Planning Commission has all the powers and duties specified by Chapter 35A.63 RCW, together with any other duties of authority conferred by the laws of the State, or by Milton’s Municipal Code.

The City of Milton’s Planning Commission has a vacancy for Position #4.  The Planning Commission meets the first Monday of the month from 4-6pm. To get involved, complete the Public Service Application.

Events Committee Openings

Are you looking for a way to get involved and have a passion for community events? We have 3 openings on our Events Committee. The Events Committee is tasked with planning and coordinating community events such as the annual Milton Days, Craft Bazaar and Tree Lighting. These events wouldn’t be possible without the members of the Events Committee!!

Park Board Opening

Do you have a passion for our city parks? If so, our Park Board might just be the place for you! City of Milton Park Board recommends general policies regarding development, operation, and maintenance of recreation areas and facilities. The Park Board adopts a proposed long-range program for the acquisition and improvement of recreation areas.

We currently have two vacancies on our Park Board. Interested residents should submit an application no later than October 8, 2021 and should plan on attending the Park Board meeting on October 20th @ 6pm. Applications will be reviewed and brought to Council in November of 2021.
